Thank you for choosing Antique Prop Shop. These Terms and Conditions of Contract cover every order placed with us, whether online or through a custom request. Placing an order confirms that you accept them.

1. Our Books

What you are buying: Our books are genuine vintage and decorative pieces. They are hand selected and sold by the metre, mainly for display and styling rather than for reading.

Condition and variation: Unless we agree an exact specification with you in advance, books will vary in height, width, title, colour, content or minor natural wear. Where we agree a specific colour, this applies to the spine only. The front and back boards may be a different colour.

Photographs: The images on our website are for illustration only. The titles and bundles you receive will not be identical to those pictured.

Wear and content: As these are display pieces, some books may contain notes or missing pages. Titles may occasionally be duplicated. Minor wear, differences in content and the individual character of vintage books are not treated as faults. Some books may include historical language or views typical of the time they were printed, which may not reflect modern standards. We cannot accept responsibility or liability for the written content of any book supplied.

2. Pricing and Availability

Prices: All prices are shown at the time you place your order. Payments are taken in Pounds Sterling (GBP).

Availability: Occasionally an item may become unavailable after you have ordered. If this happens, we may cancel your order. You will receive a full refund straight away. Antique Prop Shop is not liable for any indirect or consequential losses resulting from a cancelled order.

3. Shipping and Delivery

UK delivery: Delivery to mainland UK addresses is free. Orders are usually delivered within 5 working days of cleared payment. We can arrange faster or later delivery by prior agreement, which may carry an extra charge.

International delivery: For addresses outside mainland UK, please contact us for a delivery quote before you order.

Delivery addresses: We only deliver to the verified home or business address given at checkout. You will receive tracking details once your order has been dispatched.

Lost parcels: Please keep an eye on your tracking. If your order has not arrived within 7 days of your dispatch email, contact us straight away so we can look into it with the courier.

4. Returns, Cancellations and Refunds

All customers (private, business and trade)

Bespoke and custom orders: Orders made to your own dimensions, colours or project requirements cannot be refunded once we have started sourcing or preparing them, whatever the length ordered.

Coffee table books: Coffee table books are supplied brand new. They cannot be returned or refunded if you change your mind. This does not affect any statutory cancellation rights you may have. Nor does it affect your rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

Natural variation: Apart from bespoke and custom orders or coffee table books, our books are chosen for their look. They will show the natural variations described under Wear and content above. Differences in height, width, title, colour, content or minor natural wear do not make an order faulty or not as described.

Orders over 2 metres: Orders of more than 2 metres cannot be returned or refunded for a change of mind. This protects our stock from being bought for a photoshoot or short-term staging, only to be returned a few days later for a full refund.

Your statutory rights: Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

Private customers (personal use)

Orders of 2 metres or less: Under UK consumer law, for standard online orders of up to 2 metres, you have 14 days from delivery to tell us you would like to return your books. You then have a further 14 days to send them back. Return postage is your responsibility. Books must come back in their original condition and be well packed. We will deduct from your refund any drop in value caused by poor packing or damage in transit.

Orders over 2 metres: These cannot be returned or refunded for a change of mind.

Business and trade customers

Damage, shortages or errors: Please report any transit damage, missing items or delivery errors to us in writing within 48 hours of delivery.

Orders of 2 metres or less: Return requests for standard online orders of 2 metres or less must be made within 48 hours of delivery. A 17.5% restocking fee applies. You are responsible for all return delivery costs.

Orders over 2 metres: Business and trade orders of more than 2 metres cannot be refunded. The same applies to all bespoke, custom or bulk business and trade orders.

5. Intellectual Property

All text, images, design and layout on this website belong to Antique Prop Shop. You may not copy, reproduce or use any part of this website for commercial purposes without our written permission. You are welcome to share our content for personal, non-commercial use as long as Antique Prop Shop is clearly credited.

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions of Contract are governed by the laws of England. All contracts are made in England. Any disputes will be dealt with only by the courts of England.
